Gateway to Sweden is an Internet portal, a search-engine and an Internet exchange-board to Sweden, its companies, authorities and organisations/clubs with their own homepage or e-mail adress. This means that you can find those companies etc here but not any documents. This also means the you with the right search method only will get the answare you ask for.

There are several ways of using Gateway to Sweden. One is to use the maps and click your way through Sweden via those. Under each level, the central, regional and local, you will find adequate information about those levels, such as county councils and regional volontary organisations on the regional level. On the local level you will find all companies residing in that community with their own homepage or e-mail address, local authorities, local organisations etc. By using the map you can get a thorough overview as well as a detailed information based on counties and local communities.

Another way is to use the search engines; the normal one and the more extended. They give you exceptional possibilities to select and concentrate your search.In the normal one you simply enter the name of the company you are looking for and mark ”Search for companies”. You do not have to fill in the complete name, but the more precise you search, the fewer the answares. In the extended version you can e.g. search for:

• All companies in one branch in the whole of Sweden, in a region or locally.
• All companies in one region, one municipality or one town.
• All companies that have the word "advokat" (lawyer) in their name.
• Organisations that have any choosen letters in their name.
• Universities in the whole of Sweden, in Skåne county or in the town of Lund.
• All volontary national organisations.
• A specific company, authority or organisation, which you already know the name of.
• All the museums in Stockholm.
